    Thanks Gav.

Correct, that is the 2.8 LTZ 4X4 Auto.
I have literally only driven the car to the shops and back.

My Android needs the Auto app to connect fully with MyLink. My cell contract is up for renewal soon, and I think I should rather go for an Apple machine. I still need to give this whole MyLink thing some more thought.

My "stick" full of music is giving me wonderful sound - the sound and screen quality is truly outstanding.

Remote start is a cool gimmick and it could maybe turn out to be useful.

I really like getting tyre pressure, volts, tranny temps and water temps on demand.

The engine is nice and that box (remember it also features in two of the V8 powered Cadillacs in the US ) is super smooth.

I find it comfy, a pleasure to pilot and very quiet inside.

The tyre monitor system showed 300kpa all round. I let about 30 secs worth of air out and now it shows 200kpa. I haven't driven it since then, but I suppose the comfort levels will be even better now

Veels geluk Roelf, dis 'n uitstekende voertuig.

    Dankie Wessel.
Ek moet nog die TPMS uitfigure.
Die sisteem hou gladnie van my 200kpa banddruk nie.

It seems you have been sleeping Cats . I even tried to convince him to keep the trok in the hope that he might go back to a mighty Pajero, but alas

    Yo Cats,
I'll always have Pajero oil in my blood, but this is one heck of a nice truck.
I'm at ORT at the mo, can not recall ever having such a comfy and quiet ride. I'm sure it beats my mighty 3.8V6

    OK, some early impressions:
Tar, open road cruising is MAGIC. Plenty power, very comfy seats and suspension and lots of grunt. The 500nm torque is noticeable. The box is really smooth and very clever. I don't try to second guess it like I could with my Pajeros, but it always seems to get it spot-on. I like little touches like displaying "gradient braking" when it gears down on a down hill. I also like the little arrow that suggests an up shift, when in tiptronic mode. It is really quiet inside and I love the sound system.

I took it on the dirt track to Kaapsehoop, with four adults up, and it is smooth and very solid. Today I went up and down the mountain. Some 4x4 going as well. Once again - very comfy and solid. The ground clearance is quite a bit less than on the Isuzu with the Old Man Emo suspension, but I think it is fine for my needs.
A touch I REALLY enjoy is the following: when driving up the mountain tracks in tiptronic mode, when I stick it in 2nd it stays there, even if I come to a complete halt. I find that so relaxing, and it is one thing none of my Pajeros could do. You could pull it off in 2nd, but as soon as you come to a (almost) halt over a bump or something, the Paj would drop back to first and would need a little push on the gearstick to get it into second again. This one just Blazes a Trail in second and everything remains quiet and comfy. The traction control in the bush feels very much like in the Pajero, in other words, very effective.

I'm still a very happy camper.

Oh, a small, but interesting fact. At slow 4x4 climbing up the mountain in 2nd gear (tiptronic), the tranny oil runs about 15 cooler than when cruising up a long hill at open road speed. I never expected that.
