    Default Pluto Planeet of nie?

Sien gisteraand op 50/50 daar is by een of ander internasionale konferensie besluit dat Pluto nie as die negende planeet in ons sonnestelsel gereken kan word nie. Dus is daar nou slegs 8 volwaardige planete in ons sonnestelsel.

Strange, I have known about them de-naming Pluto a planet for 2 years..... Something about it not having its own moon

    I thought it was a done deal8)

Until they started discovering all the Kuiper belt objects, a planet was a rocky/big object circling a star. TO make life easier, the exact definition of a planet and dwarf planet was drawn up. A planet must clear all the debris from its orbit, in other words, no rocks in the same orbit, should be round due to its own gravity and a few other rules as well. It took some time to get everyone to agree on the same page
