We'll also be travelling this way in June - definitely interested in views between the cutline vs the park route (if open/cleared)

    Hello,

We will be going to Mabuasehube at the end of the month onto Polentswa via Kaa.

Please check the attached picture and need some advice on best route for 2 vehicles towing bushlapa and echo4. Been advised on Option 2 and Option 3last year. Anybody been past these areas recently

Starting at Mabua gate going North to either
    Option 1: 1 > 2 > 5 (Kaa)
    Option 2: 1 > 2 (Hukuntsi) > 3 (Zutshwa) > 5 (Kaa)
    Option 3: 1 > 2 (Hukuntsi) > 3 (Zutshwa) > 4 > 5 (Kaa)

    Thank you

Option 1 if you just want to reach Kaa
Option 2 or 3 when you have time to explore and enjoy the "old hunting concessions"

Did the link via Zutshwe to Kaa from a connection from Kang without going through Hukuntsi with a trailer, no problems when you take it slow and deflate the tyres.

    Hi Riku
I have replied to your PM.
Option 2 or 3 is a very long way around. You need only consider this if you are looking to get fuel in Hukuntsi

    Hi,

Why not go directly to Nossob via Motopi and then up to Polentswa? Or am I missing something?

    Regards and enjoy.

We thought about that but would rather take another route north see some other areas.
Also the dunes towards Nossob and the oncoming traffic. Really dont feel like that stress while towing

    Looking forward to it
    Cheers

    Hi Riku
I have been having problems replying to your last PM. System not working.
My view - do not stress - take the cut-line route. You may need some patience in grinding along for a few kilometers in 2LR. Just watch your engine temperatures and stop for coffee if need be.
We have never got stuck in these areas.
If you go via Zutswa, the direct route to Kaa Gate has some sandy patches anyway. But it is a beautiful drive. I have never been on the track that goes north west of Zutswa to join the nort south cut-line but have heard it is fine.
    Enjoy your trip.
