    Default Tent for two?

We are pensioners and need some ease of set up and some room for comfort!Does anyone have any experience of the Oztrail range of quick frame ( eg 420 Cabin).
We have for past three years going to Kgalagadi from Cape Town and have used some other tents which did not suit us,
    Comments welcome

No experience of Oztrail, but take a peek at Howling Moon Wizz. They say it takes less than 30 secs to erect.

    Hi Snys
I saw the Wizz advertised in a mag recently. I think this tent is seriously going to dent the Oztent sales. But I was dissappointed to see in that ad that the tent was only 2 metres deep. Now you're saying there's a deeper model, the Wizz 26? Good news......do you know who stocks these tents?

A friend recently bought the Oztrail RV5 and he is super happy with it. Very easy to erect and take down.

    No personal experience though.

I have an RV5. Very quick and easy to setup with quality finishings. They are nice and tall so you can stand up and change in them and there is loads of space for two people. You can fit a double mattress/stretcher and two chairs and two bags in them.

Only issue I have is the packed size of the tent is 2 metres long and will not fit in the back of a double cab bukkie. Its weight is 25kg without accessories so getting it on and off the roof is a bit of a mission for one person.

That being said, if you have the space or do not mind lifting the 25kg on and off the roofracks its a superb tent!

We have the side panels for the awning and the extra shade was a life saver in Dec with the heat.

I looked at oz tent and howling moon whizz tent. In the end I bought a Howling moon strata 2 dome tent. Relatively easy to put up, well made, I'm 6ft1 and can stand up, lots of space and only cost 4K. Downside is it weighs 30kgs in the bag!

Oz and whizz tent are quick to put up BUT they are bulky to transport st atound 2m long, this put me off! Oz tent also comes with big price tag.

I think the choice boils down to how much money you have and what comfort you are looking at, further look at the health fitness side, can you pick up and carry the tent, good quality quick pitch systems are bulky , heavy.
Further how often are you going to be using it, this determines quality, Sun, rain , extreme winds affect what to purchase , cheaper or better products etc
Will it fit inside your future vehicle (we downgraded our vehicle and discovered our gear didn't fit)

After a tour of Namibia obver December/ January with our Oz tent I have 2 comments.
1 What a pleasure to put up and take down quik an easy.
2 What a bitch to get on the roofrack on the Disco and get down if SWAMBO is a shorty like mine.
The length and weight makes it quite a task if you are alone. After a 500km drive gyour 1st task to clime up and get the tent down as a pentioner was not alwys the easiest when you have old rugby and other injuries of the past bugging you.
