Prado 120 registration

Hi guys,

Just wanted to find out what my fellow prado 120 drivers disc says. Meaning as what is yours registered? How many seated occupants?

My disc says SUV/KOMBI and states that it accommodates 8 seated passengers.

This does not sound right. I got a fright when i had to renew my license and what i had to pay. Could it be that the dealership/traffic dept made an error when vehicle was registered. Checked out another prado's disc in town, and it showed 5 seated passengers

You are 100% correct. It is a mistake, and you pay for it now as you pay according to the weight of the vehicle. The Kombi is very heavy.

I reckon the dealership will not correct this on their account, which begs the question....can i rectify it at the local traffic dept, or do i need to re-register the vehicle?

Mine says "Station wagon/Stasiewa"
and also 8 seated and 0 standing. It's not a mistake and you don't pay per person, but per registered weight.

The prado is a 7 seater and surely not 8? My disc says KOMBI but the weight is the same as other discs i checked.

The tare on mine is 2035 kg

What is your annual reg cost?

Mine was R870 last year. Will see what it's gonna be this year. As far as I know the amount of seats is neither here nor there (as long as it's less than 12). Wouldn't worry about it.

120 is a 8 seater...my disk also showed 8
