Default 270 degree awning on Conqueror

Anyone thought of putting a eazi-awn bat 270 degree awning on their conqueror trailer?

I have a conqueror compact 2 and it would be a pleasure to have a awning on the trailer that can be set up in a few minutes instead of the standard L-Shape awning from conqueror that takes quite a bit of time and effort?

I am aware it wont be so strong and water proof as the orriginal L-Shape but if the weather gets bad you can still always then use the L-Shape instead of the eazi-awn?

Your suggestions or experiance with this would be appreciated and might save me some school fees

We designed our trailer from the beginning to use a 270 degree awning.

Anything can be made to work. just remember that you need a space, as long as the awning poles to attach it to, which is rigid and above your head.

I also do have the standard 270 awning from conqueror. Bult like said it would be much easier with a eazi-awn bat 270 on it.

Then you dont even have to put out poles and pens if the weather allows.

Ja our awning has a 2.6m radius, slightly bigger than the easy awn bat.

But that said the bat 270 is a very good product. Manta gives a slightly bigger shade and ends square which might suit your needs better.

How would you attach it to the trailer?? I would also like to do this, but trailers with trailer top tents do not have a high enough structure to fit a bat awning.

That is why you sell your trailer and buy a LeBusha Overlander.

Otherwise, I think you will be able to get away with some hinged struckture that will fold onto the TT when traveling but folds up and locks into position with pins.

Hell I might even be able to build you one. Will be an interesting project and something there is a need for.

If you don't want to buy my trailer you can still buy my awning. . .

How do these bat awnings compare to the L shape awnings when it comes to size/coverage area and strength against storms?

They are pretty sturdy, depends more on your tent pens and poles and ropes.

We have never had an issue with ours and I have had very windy trips.

I quickly looked at the coverage of the eazi-awn bat, it seems like you are going to loose quite a lot of space in the shade compared to an L shape awning. For me that is a bit of an issue since we like to be spoiled with a spacious camp setup ("Dorp")

I fitted a bundutec to my metalian trailer. Works awesome as it has 270 at the back and front and i did not loose much shaded area compared to my old fly sheet.
The traer is too low, so i made a bracket where i collapse the frame to be ontop of the closed tent. It works well.
I have one or two issues to sort out, but on December i stood in rain and very strong winds.

    Hi Hennie,

    Remember those pics please.

I also thought to make like a adjustable bracket then you can lower and lift the awning to the level you want it when stationary. They idea I have in my mind ''I think it should work perfectly on my trailer set up''.

And when you get to haevy winds and storms you can still put on the orriginal awning from conqueror.

The Batt 270 would just be a easy pack up and go and a easy way out for some shade.

I found it as hard work putting up my L-Shape for one or two nights.

    I aw this once

It looks like a EasyAwn Type awning that is used as a kitchen awning. It might be in the way when having you morning coffee and while still lying in bed though

Would the Hindges from an folding aluminum ladder not work great for that ?

Excuse the dirty trailer. I also need to get my tent cover repaired after a recent trip.

The concept is as follows. The frame is horizontal on top of the tent. I then lift the frame to be vertical. It is kept in position with straps that can be adjusted. I found that if the trailer is not level, you can still adjust the awning. I have two straps on a side, one to keep it vertical and one to prevent it from collapsing/ pulling it down. I can also collapse it past verticle to get it out of the way when setting up my main tent.
Its not perfect, but works well. I added a pipe to the frame for my main tent poles, I also strap my RV2 to it that I use as a add a room.

Looks like a great mod! You don't possibly have any pics from a recent camp where it is pitched? How does it compare with the standard awnings?
