    Default Ladder mod RTT

    Hi guys,

We have had a RTT from Echo for 14 mths now. On our most recent trip is the lower part of the ladder broke in pieces after falling off the roof. Swambo wants a more comfortable ladder with bigger tread area. Any ideas?

    Hi Zapiture,

I had an XT 140 and bought a normal step ladder (I think 6 step) and removed the back portion, I then made a cross bar to secure it to the bed base with velco when set up.

If it's the Echo ladder with the round treads, they are horrible. I replaced mine with flat treads with lateral ribbing on them for better grip. Done for me by Christy Sports in Diep River, Cape Town.

Jip, Tony, the very same. My wife hated it from the start. Promised her replacement ages ago.

Depending on your budget Front Runner have these telescopic ladders

I have seen them at hardware supply shops as well for about R1500

When it comes to camping I have a target

Any idea how wide the tread area is. I like this option.

Lusted for a Landy but the Pajero was sexier and bigger in the right departments, just like my Missus.

The Tentco TTT ladder is basically a step ladder, without the back part, similar to the one that Adendorffs advertise.

Just a tip: even with the flat steps, it is uncomfortable when climbing in / out of bed without any shoes / slippers on. I stucked some rubber pieces on top of it on my ladder to soften the climb!
