Send it for wheel balancing and alignment for the holiday travels.

Apart from that, haven't spend anything on it since I fitted the Blaupunkt head unit.

We are being warned frequently in the newspapers and on radio that there will be action taken against vehicles with lightbars at all the roadblocks. They say that your license disk will be removed from your vehicle as you are making it un-roadworthy by fitting a lightbar.

So... I don't want to spoil my holiday before it even starts - I'd rather remove it until they make their minds up and update the legislation to make sense.

    Not selling it yet :-)

I was under the impression they sorted that out a while back, you see so many of them these days and they are for sale at every second place. But as you say, rather safe than sorry.

To me there is no difference in the "function" of a light bar and a spot.

Got an RLD Design canopy, massively happy with it. Ran power to rear for DCDC & fridge and mounted another power point at battery so that I can swap battery pack, fridge & compressor between the Disco and the Rok.

Oh, and we'll probably do 4000kms over the next 2 weeks... Seriously looking forward to taking a Rok on the open road again, especially that yummy gearbox!

Drove the Welgelegen 4x4 track with a few Hiluxes and a Jeep. Was very enjoyable and the view from the top was unbelievable.

Default What have you done to your Volkswagen today?

FYI. I drove Jhb to dbn. Left on the 24th at 01h30. Mostly 100km/hr. Stuck in 5th most of the way.
I tend to use the instantaneous fuel consumption as a proxy for egt. So any time it nears foot flat I down shift. That means I hit a few of the hills in 4th gear and I usually always keep the revs below 2500 which means around 80 up some of the longer hills.

Can't really fault a motor that returns that sort of consumption with roof racks and a boat in tow. By the way it is a 90kw dc.
    Cheers
