    Default My favorite

Tentatively count me in. This is my favorite one.

It will be my third time and again, we will only do a day drive there and back doing the main trail.

Pics - Last year was a wet one, hope it is the same this time. I might just decide to do it in my new J-Top this year.

May I tempt you even more?

I have arranged with Ronel that we do the extreme trail that you, Andrew and Hercules did the year before, weather permitting, on the 1st.
It will be an optional route. Those that choose not to do it are welcome to do a short trail.

Yes... But, we never did the whole Tierkloof last year.... (And I do not mean the extreme trail)

I decided against it when I assessed the group. This year I will do it with you....

It is extremely technical! and requires that you know every inch of your vehicle's extremities...

There are massive rocks scattered over a very narrow, very twisty path in an overgrown jungle like area... One mistake... And you are looking at a R7.5k+ "off road insurance" excess payment...

It is not meant for 4x4's without difflock (Unless you have massive flex) because you cannot "choose" a line... and there is NO chance of turning back... And even less chance of recoveries.....

    Tierkloof 4x4 Trail

The Tierkloof 4x4 trail is short but challenging, with a few interesting obstacles. Navigate over huge boulders inside thick bush, before taking a short steep rocky climb to the top of the mountain. After a short scenic drive you’ll have to drive down one of the steepest downhill sections on the farm.

The route is 8km in length but takes about 2 – 3 hours to complete.

The full tierkloof, and including walletjies straat.... (If you make this one trail) Is probably the most technical and extreme of the lot.

The Tierkloof extreme although exciting with its scary side slopes and massive inclines and declines was much less demanding for me...
