Open basecamp and your downloads and drag the OSM logo onto Basecamp. Then check your maps. Should be on basecamp.
If you have basecamp 4.7 dump it and go back into google and load basecamp 4.6.1 or 4.6.2

Ah, so mean that following the instructions may have some value ...... indeed . So the product is installed on the PC and the full topo version is running on base camp.

Uploaded the OSM Topo to my Nuvi SD with no issues. Immediately uninstalled it and will maybe reload as soon as I can figure out how to get rid of that annoying "NR"- National Reserve layer....

I don't get that level of detail and have checked, hidden folders are deactivated.

So I am dumping it in the root directory and lets see what happens?

    Go figure?

Damn I'm making a meal of this.

So on the Android I seethe image file in the correct directory but the map does not display when selecting the option to switch.

I have just noted that my version is OruxMaps Donate. Is this the correct one?

New version: OruxMaps v.7.4.14! (ONLY DONATE VERSION AVAILABLE IN GOOGLE PLAY, BECAUSE THE FREE VERSION "it has been removed from Google Play because it violates the payments policy")

You need to download the .apk file and install it. Firstly delete OryxMaps Donate vie Settings...Apps

OK so the whole reason for the Topo mapping was to get my notepad on my boat with all "odd" submerged obstacles noted. And yes I have a fish finder with depth finder but this sits at the stern and I hit a submerged beacon over December. Submerged islands and beacons I wish to give a wide berth.

So when mapping the beacon on the topo I am 1km off from Google Earth, for the identical coords. Google earth is more representative of the position however.

    So a couple of questions;
Could the magentic declination have an effect?
What is the best coordinate system?
Why would the two be so far off despite entering the same coords?

    Regards

    This Worked for me.
I updated my Jeeps Garmin Navus GPS (built in unit) and it worked immediately.
It's amazing since the GPS is about 14 years old.
    Thanks allot OP.

Since my last post in Feb I sorted OSM Topo for my Garmin.
It works well and good detail on maps. Routing can be better and there are some anomalies i.e. taking one off the highway, through Witbank on the way to Belfast.... Luckily my brain is not replaced by the Garmin, so I ignore most "inaccuracies".

I use the maps on my Garmin Nuvi 2789 (7"). No need to ever spend money on a GPS again, unless this one gives up, however I have had zero issues with this Nuvi.
