    Default Sound Proofing a Trailblazer??

    Hi
Just about to pull the trigger on a 2016 TB. My only concern is the engine noise compared to Everest, New 2.8 Prado diesel. This is my first Diesel, anyone sound proofed their TB to share experiences?

Engine noise would not be on my list of reasons not to buy a Trail Blazer...

You'll get used to it! Not worth the the effort or buy a petrol if you don't like diesel.

What would be your reason not to other than Brand name and perceived lower resale. Plan to keep car min 3 years.

Even 5-10 db would make a difference, the low hz hum and noise on hard acceleration is what bothers. I measured 90db at its peak on phone decibel meter(may not be 100% accurate)

I have a agreement with Vcollerp that I won't bash the TarGrazer and he won't come to the Toyota section...

But, living in Nairobi, surely engine noise is no issue?

    Buy ear plugs

Seriously think you'd get used to it over time.

The OP should come stand next to my JMC BaoDeng bakkie - you cannot have a conversation if you are within 3.0m of that bakkie.
And that is no literal comment. You really cannot.
If you have that JMC idling & stand against an Isuzu, also idling, 5.0m away, you cannot hear the Isuzu...

A real option, really like the TB, big, unassuming, not a Toyota, outside the Tupperware well designed internal layout, handles corrogation pretty well.

The engine noise is one of my favourite parts of starting up my TB. Yes i could have bought a quiet car, but the duramax motor just sounds ready to tackle anything and knowing what power you get out of it makes it even more worthwhile.

I love the power and ruggedness the noise problem is the low hum drum noise in the lower register

Yeah, small changes, the TB here is $20k cheaper than the old Tuna, $25k cheaper than new Ford Everest XLT, $35k cheaper than the Limited and half the price of the basic entry level Prado, let's just say the TB is a runaway success here! A 6 year old Prado 150 same price as a brand new LTZ TB

Standing outside yes it sounds like a tractor. Climb inside and drive it then you don't even realise you are driving a diesel.
