Default Discovery 3, Intermitted irregular idling after Injector Replacement

    Dear Land Rover lovers,

I recently refurbish all of the fuel injectors of my Dico3, after it was founded that 2 injectors were faulty due to excessive smoke, when idling.

The excessive smoke problem was put to bed after the installation of the re manufactured injectors. The increase in power was also very noticeable. But know a new problem has manifested. At times after starting up irregular idling taking place which stops after a while.

I have recently removed the CAT and blanked off the EGR.

Any assistance and guidance to overcome the problem would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Gert

Default Carbon build up on injectors

    Hi All

one of the quickest ways to get injector problems (excessive carbon build up, water contamination etc) is to change the diesel filter only every 20'000km.

Do it every 10'000km and you will save yourself lots of grief, irregular idling problems during start ups etc.

The SA diesel is not clean enough to allow a 20'000km interval without expensive follow on costs. Same goes for oil services.

In Germany, 30'000km diesel filter intervals are the norm. But then........

    For more tips pm me.
