    Default 285 vs 275 vs 265 on 2" lift

Its time for me to replace my Tyres.

I had 285/70/17s on and enjoyed it but with the amount of towing I am doing lately I am considering going down 1 or 2 sizes and going for Cooper ST Max which is a bit calmer than the MTs i have on now.

I remember when I did the lift and still had the stock 245s on it looked horrible.

What would be a better option for me and If you have pics it would help alot.
Cooper 275/70/17 at R5k a tyre (which is what i think is nicer)
    Or
Cooper 265/70/17 which is around R4k a tyre. So i will save R5k with the 265s.

Id go for the 265s if it wont look small on the lift. My current tyres have worn down from a 32.8" actual measurement to a 31.6. The 265 are pretty close to that, but has a lot less aggresive thread than the Federals.

    Any advice?

    Hi Gerhard

A long time since your original post.

Iím very curious to know what you decided to do in the end?

Iím in the exact same position - currently with a 2 inch lift and 285/70/17 Cooper STT. Wanting to fit Cooper S/T maxx and trying to decide between keeping the size at 285/70/17 or drop to 265/70/17.

Iíve considered all the pros and cons of going smaller and barring better ground clearance from the taller tyre they all weigh in favour of the smaller tyre. Now just trying to figure out whether it will look silly given the lift (which I donít want to undo!).

I went for the 285/70/17 Cooper ST Max.

Tyre was much calmer and still looked the part. I enjoyed it much more than the MTs.

I looked at the smaller sizes but it just didnt look well.
