Cracked dizzy cap.
Replace the cap rotor and wires. Not worth the frustration.
|
Hello Guys and Girls.
I am losing spark on my disco1 v8. The engine goes: Vrrrr bwu Vrrrrr bwu bwu Vrrrr, with a very noticeable click of spark jumping to earth somewhere around the distributor and plug wires in time with every Bwu.
I have looked at the wires in the dark, and some are leaking with very small sparks, but I cannot see the spark causing the loud "tick". I hope this is not inside the distributor somewhere.
First step will be replacing the wires tomorrow, and see if I get somewhere
Any ideas would help.

Sound advice Henris
Those "small" sparks rob you of big amounts of power and fuel. Dizzy cap wires and rotor is not so expensive and will make a big difference.
