Keep a eye out for the resident honey badger at night and put all leftovers away. I woke one night with a ###### lawaai. He toppled my skottel braai to get to the remains and snarled at me when I tried to chase him!

We were there March this year for a whole week. Horrible place and nobody should even be forced to camp there. Its quiet, peacefull, lots of trees and game is plentifull. No, don't go there! !

Back to site number 3 again in December for four nights, after three nights in Balule and a stint in Satara, then one night in Skukuza to acclimatise before coming home..

Just can't get enough of Tsendze (and Balule).

I also don't know how people stand the place, no electricity, they make you shower outdoors with gas showers, I mean how archaic can you get. As much as I want to clean the braai stand NOOOO, they won't let me do it. HB, the Honey badger, he is one mean little fellow.

The camp sites. Sho just bush and dirt, no paving, grass, nothing, not even lights

Lusted for a Landy but the Pajero was sexier and bigger in the right departments, just like my Missus.

Yep. Tsendze has some massively dangerous ones.

Went hunting for scoprions last time we were there. ironically almost stepped on one that was directly under the basins in the washup area.

He was massive, with a tail so thick he could not keep it up.

We asked the friendly camp manager and he said told us his little son was stung by one of those and ended up being airlifted to hospital. When we asked how old his "little" son was he said 21 at the time of indecent!

Tsendze also have some of the biggest Romans I have ever seen. So big you can hear their foodsteps in the sand.... Be safe out there...

We experienced these first hand!! Had a few running through the camp every evening, which led to total panic and scrambling for higher elevations....

If my wife sees the red roman comment, she will prob stay in Pretoria lol!!! Petrified of spiders.

Just before we started dating, we were on a farm on new years eve, and a red roman ran across the floor, that was the last time I saw her run so fast

I love spiders, owned many tarantulas (30) a few years back - beautiful creatures!

Talking of spiders and Tsendze, it was at this camp that I first learnt that you can see the spiders eyes reflect back at you when you have your head torch on. When walking to the ablutions, the sides of the pathways look like glitter has been sprinkled along them. So cool. My wife is petrified of spiders, but even she enjoyed seeing this spectacle there once she realized the glinting eyes belonged to pretty small little spiders.

Hello to all or any Tsendze gurus!

We are booked to camp there for 4 nights in next year's July school hols. Can't wait as we've heard only magical things about this special rustic camp in the KNP! The site no allocated to us is No 4. Am just a little worried though as on the layout map it looks nice and private but a little small and away from the fence.

We are not a big group - 4 of us - camping in an offroad caravan. Should we rather try get in touch with Mopani office to try secure another site? I'm sure the 'firm favourites' are already taken so will stick with No 4 unless there are good reasons to change?

    Any advice for us?

Site 3 is the most sought after...if memory serves me correctly 25 is also decent....we had 27 with lot's of cute squirrels .

The site next to the entrance would be worst case scenario as traffic will irritate.

Either way wherever you are it will be a wonderful experience run by dedicated staff who did daily rounds and chatted to everyone as friend's.

Stick with 4. If you change now you could get a bad one as all the best taken by now...

Site 4 is not bad.... close to ablution as well.

We are booked at site 6 for next year’s June/July holiday. After nr 3 I prefer site 6 as it is right next to the fence and no traffic at all in that corner.
