If you consider the manual then get the Landcruiser
What a life!

Bit off topic, but...does the new 4x2 Auto have the same gearbox with the same ratios? If so, it could be the most capable 4x2 money can buy? Just wondering...

The clever ones are being outbred & overruled by the not so clever ones. Pair that with unchecked selfishness. We are heading for a fall!
Guys,
I am also looking at the new Amarok, but have noticed that some 2015's have a different design steering wheel to the others.
Anyone know what this is about?
We loved our previous Pajero - Auto. What a dream to drive.
We never had a problem with the gearbox,
either on or off road, and, its had low, high and diff lock.
If you want to know the real difference between the Manual and Auto Amarok book your spot now
The Auto Amarok makes use of a Torsen centre diff:

This is how the Torsen diff works (I know this video is of a rear diff but the working stays the same)

This is the result if you get stuck:

And that is why the manual has an advantage over the Auto in "extreme" 4x4 situations and why I bought a manual
Does the lack of low range and a locking centre diff actually classify the Auto as a softroader?....
VW Amarok V6 DC 4Motion
(Ex) 2011 VW Amarok BiTDI DC 4Motion
(Ex) 2007 Mitsubishi Triton 2.5 DID DC 4x4
(Ex) 2001 Mitsubishi Colt 2.8 TDI DC 4x4
The auto is a softroader, capable but classify under softroader. Still better by far than the manual as a every day drive and holiday vehicle. The manual will only outperform the auto in more challenging obstacles and fuel consumption. Thats it.
Thanks Clubbie.
I also see that the on the VW website it says the Amarok highline comes with the VW MIB 2 radio, which according to my research looks awesome. However, I cant see this type of radio anywhere on any interior pics of new Amaroks on the used car websites.
Which radio comes with the Auto?
