No apologies necessary. It was ranting that led to Adore being formed in the first place :-). The reality is that there is a lot that never seems to make sense but it's all going in the right direction once the right questions get asked & pressure applied.

If Bulk Water proclaim that Gas braais affect the aquifer then they need to present their IA (impact assessment). But they've never done one. However, it's their land so we have to abide by their rules until the reserve is promulgated.

As a matter of interest, there is no critically endangered fynbos (traction aid) inside AD.

yeah, but we don't want to burn the place down just yet.

people will whine about 4x4 drivers again, and we only just convinced them that the wood cutters were the baddies...

Did you know that in order for fynbos to survive, it needs to be torched about every 20 years? If it doesn't happen naturally then they need to do controlled burns

about every 7, but they keep putting it out above my house for some obscure reason.

AD is full of okayish braai wood. Not much fynbos at all.

but I thought we were trying to break that news to people gently?

that (a) you can't break sand with a 4x4 and (b) driving on the traction aids in the dunes is environmentally friendly.

small rocks that get airborne easily.

some green stuff I'm very careful over . I do like certain green stuffs.

but nothing at AD is worth getting emotional over. it's like brussels sprouts for the most part. hateful stuff put on earth to punish children. one day they will beg us to remove it....

    Neil,

Shouldn't you be talking about the 40km/h rule also?

I think in the new proposed rules we suggested 60 or 80 kph. I'll have to check. 40 should be the minimum speed :-)

Speed is relative to the observer. But you guys won't understand, it is all about physics.

    Lol Andre :-)

Here is a list of mammals & reptiles that are found at AD. I didn't include the bird life as its 3 pages long. It's probably 150 different species.
