Thanks, that will be a good place to camp coming out of Savuti/Kwai towards Kasane. I stayed at the lodge a few years ago and we saw many animals around that area.
    When is it opening ?

Have you looked at their website? Seems not as it has an activity page. If not then use the forum search facilities.

Did you? The page states to contact the camp directly wrg to activities... However, can understand that you in Florida are happy with 'shopping and doing laundry, collect firewood' being defined as activity- over here we call these 'to do's' work.

It is a lovely camp spot with really nice ablutions. I think the best yet in Botswana. What sort of activities are you looking for ?
I would imagine that most people who stay here are in transit between the parks or visiting Chobe during the day.

    Good morning

I am sorry for the delay in replying. We use local operators for our activities and I have been firming up rates with them before adding them to our page.

From Muchenje we can organise a 3 hour game drive into the Chobe National Park and also a Victoria Falls day trip. However the best way to explore the Chobe is self-driving if you have a 4x4. We can assist you with maps and routes

We can organise a 3 hour boat cruise, however currently that is from Kasane which is a 60km drive from us on a tarred access road.

I am working on a 'bush school' programme for kids of people staying with us so that they can enjoy the bush and their parents can have a break.

Please feel free to e-mail me and I will happily send you the price lists,
We would love to help you organise a very happy holiday.

    Kind Regards
    Bronwen

    Hello,
I was wondering whether the camp offers guided game drives into Chobe Riverfront. We are coming from Savuti, however not staying at Ihaha next day.
    Many thanks, best M.

    Good morning

Thanks so much for the inquiry.

We can be reached by 4x2 as there is a tarred access road through the Chobe National Park, I have attached our location on Google maps for you to see.

However to explore the Chobe Riverfront in your own vehicle a 4x4 is an absolute necessity as there are some areas with very thick sand.

Please let me know is I can help you with any more info

    Kind Regards
    Bronwen

Yep, the page does state contact the CAMP directly! so sorreeee, also see http://www.muchenje.com/Home.aspx Oops! wrong one.

You don't like Florida! Why? I like Switzerland (especially the chocs and snow) but I still prefer Swedish blondes.

Here we go again "you in Florida" are happy? yep we sure are. New York had to be named twice,"New York, New York" because it is so beautiful- I guess with a name like MariMari it must be for the same reason. Now don't be ugly . Excuse me I need to get to the dry cleaner!

After spending some time at Muchenje Campsite just over a week ago I have to commend Bronwen and her staff for what they have achieved in a very short period (considering this thread was started about a year ago). We were originally booked for two nights, but had to add an additional day because of trouble with the vehicle.
The campsites are spacious, meticulously kept on a daily basis and the ablutions were the best we encountered on our 19 days in Botswana. Thank you Bronwen for being prepared to 'walk the extra mile' to ensure that your visitors are comfortable. We appreciate the referral to Tom to attend to the Land Rover, and for arranging the Chobe river cruise for us. It was amazing! I forget the name of the operator, but they provided a fitting conclusion to a great holiday.
I can highly recommend Muchenje Campsites to prospective travellers in the area.
