Very nice trip report with some useful tips as well, thank you. Was surprised to see the low fees for the Botswana camps compared to the other parks in Botswana. Did you do you bookings via DWNP.

Thanks for posting! A stylish convoy!

    So the lions came visiting!

How was Molopo camping and restaurant and the Oranjerus Resort?

Oranjerus seem to be having some security problems at the moment.

Thanks for sharing, I like the report style. Seems that some of the tracks are a little on the rough side

Pictures look great , why the comment about not being able to take night pictures?

Yes, I made my booking by phoning DWNP a few time before getting through.

Molopo was very nice, although the campsites were on the smaller side. Very neat with each their own little bathroom. I will post a picture with the photo part of the report.
The restaurant was nice although loadshedding did impact our dinner a little bit.

The restaurant at Oranjerus was great. We did not have any issues at the camp site, but then, we were there all the time.

Our camera equipment was not good enough to take pictures in the dark. Next time we will leave a spot light on where the lions come to drink.

Can you estimate what would be the net driving time from Nossob to Mabua ?
We are going to drive this route end of Sep.

Thanks for the report, pity about the roads, we have a similar trip booked for Jan. No trailers though.
Lusted for a Landy but the Pajero was sexier and bigger in the right departments, just like my Missus.

Awesome report, KampGat - thank you for taking the trouble to share with us all! I just want to know whether there was water in the various waterholes in Mabua? We were there in April 2014 and there was very little water available and no animals - we never heard a lion at all. The dustbins were all overflowing and people from other campsites were queuing up to use our shower which was the only one with water (while we were in camp). Not an enjoyable experience on that particular trip. I'd be grateful if you could let us know about the waterholes. The Park staff told us Mabua was being privatised and we assumed that was the reason they weren't bothering to pump water or remove refuse.
