    Default Suspension too stiff

    HI Guys

I have a 2012 2.8 ltz trailblazer. I have found that the suspension is also too stiff.

I have just ordered the same as raf seems like from northgate tyres on malibongwe. Getting shocks replaced with the amadaextreme package as they don't do lift kits for the blazer. Will give feedback as soon as its fitted on Saturday.

Regarding tires i have the cooper discoverer at3's on the car 265/60R18's.

The spare is still 16 inch but i am going to change the tire also on saturday to a 265/70R16 and the difference is only 2mm. So this will hopefully put my mind at ease in terms of the spare lol

The total package with the tire is costing just over 10k, hopefully worth it in the long run and the shocks should hopefully sort out the harshness of the ride.

Will give feedback once installed have a lekker day.

Default Update on Suspension Trailblazer suspension

    HI Guys

As mentioned i am posting back after the upgrades, the suspension is much better than what it was softer and seems to absorb the bumps better. No sea saw action.

I suppose time will tell but the amadaextreme's come with a 2 year 80000km warranty and the guys said they have had no come backs as yet.

The spare tyre is now also sorted and is almost the same diameter 2mm out better than it was at 26mm out lol

I have also just ordered some escape gear seat covers getting them installed this week at R6300 for the set so if anyone is looking to protect there seats i would recommend escape gear and Rhino4x4 in Randburg.

    Hi Agf,

How did you get around the spare tyre size issue? Did you change the 16" rim or just a different tyre size? Did it fit underneath?

    Default Suspension & Tires

    HI Jaco

I kept the 16 inch rim and then replaced the tire that was on there with a cooper AT3 265/70 R16 which was as close to the original diameter as what we could get it.

The tire fits in fine with lots of space but bearing in mind i don't have a tow bar. The 265/70R16 will fit if a tow bar is fitted but tightly.

Mine is stock standard and I have no issues relating to a "hard" suspension.

Cannot say the same. My TB feels nice on tar and gravel. Good driving comfort

Where did you get your Cooper tyres? Errol tyres are charging over 4k each for 265/60/18!!

We recently (Feb) changed from the factory tyres to Bridgestone D697A/T and the ride is now much harsher. It seems the factory tyres had softer sidewalls that could absorb bumps. I have the new tyres at the same pressure and it is noticeably harsher. The 697s hands down better off road (and equally impressive on road) than the stock tyres, we went up Sani Pass again and no hint of wheelspin this time. Still amazed how tyre choice can affect ride.
