    What is wot values?

    The gauge is in Fahrenheit.

In cruise it varies between 750F-1050F (400C-565C)
At idle it is about 450F (230C)
The max I got so far driving hard up Hans Strydom is 1580F (860C)

very nicely done. I also like the neat copper nuts on the manifold and the shiny new turbo.

    Story behind the new bits?

Long story for the new shiny turbo and new gasket, but in short the following:
Since I bought the car in 2007 the turbo was never 100%. Eventually find faulty/leaking actuator on turbo. Garrett or Merc does not sell actuator seperate from turbo but I managed to get another actuator fitted by some company. The car was much better, but still not 100% since the actuator should actaully be set on a flow bench machine and computer in order to set some minimum vane position for the turbo to work at optimum. This was done about 3 years ago.
I planned on fitting an EGT gauge last year, and during inspection of my exhaust manifold to look where I was going to fit the egt probe, I saw that my turbo and gasket was now leaking exhaust gas. (pictures attached)
I could have got my turbo serviced for about R2500 but the actuator would still not be perfect and also the turbo has already done 310000km. So I decided to buy a brand new turbo from Garrett and I replaced my exhaust gasket as well as my turbo. While the exhaust gasket was removed I got someone to come and drill and tap the manifold and attached the egt probe "bracket/nut"
While I was at it I also replace my airbox and the air pipe between airbox and turbo. (Previous airbox was somehow letting some dirt in on wrong side of airfilter)
I also bought heat shielding self adhesive material made from crushed lava which could withstand 2200 Fahrenheit and put that on my turbo heatshield as well as airbox in order to keep my intake air cooler.

I flushed and cleaned my intercooler before I replaced my turbo and now everything is running smoothly
