    Default Mabibi Trail Security

    HI Everyone
I'm planning to do the Mabibi trail very soon.
Is it necessary at all to travel with 2 vehicles, in terms of drive ability. ?
Is there any real security concern anywhere on the trail.?
    Please advise ......

Mabibi is not really 'a' trail-it's a settlement, beach, campground and area. There are many, many 'trails' there-you have to take care not to get lost if you are cruising around. Best thing to do is to get familiar with the area by Google Earth/maps and GPS/paper maps etc. before you go.

If you are planning to go to Mabibi camp/beach for a day only-then it very much depends on where you're coming from as to the 'trail' you take to get there
-if you are camping there, then you will get to drive many trails in the area.

It is always better to be in 2 vehicles, but as long as you can handle deep soft sand, you should be OK. Security-as everywhere, incidents have taken place in the past-just be smart and aware.

It is a stunning area-enjoy it!

I agree with Patrick L. I drove different roads/trails there and back, there was some soft sand on the one but never had to use low range, you can do it all in 4x4H.

I can't comment on security as I never got stuck etc. There has been some reports of some issues at I think Lake Sibiya (not sure exactly where), on the forum but by the sounds of it it is a picnic spot or if you get out of the vehicle - just do a search I'm sure you'll find it.

Vehicle wise I would not stress too much.
