Best Tires for Comfort and All-Round Capability?

Hi Guys

I've had my Wrangler for about 2 years now. When I bought it I went straight to "Northridge 4x4" and got it all kitted out. He recommended a set of Cooper LTZ tires and I liked the XD Series "Crank" Mags. This combination was visually appealing and I've really enjoyed them.

However I am looking to change now. Im getting a bit more into off roading and the route I now take every day has become a bit 'bumpy' even in terms of SA road standards. Im looking to sell these tires and mags, and also sell my original Wrangler tires and mags and replace them with something with a thicker profile that is going to be more comfortable for everyday use.

I have a 2" lifted EFS suspension. What combination of mags & tires would you recommend?

Also where would be the best place to sell my mags & tires, and I would appreciate if someone could guide me on the usual second hand going price for both sets.

All-Round Capability?

Only muds are all-round capable.

ATs are USELESS when the road gets slushy. Most ATs are also very prone to sidewall damage.

Most muds also LT rated, having must stronger sidewall plies. Even the 2ply versions. This stronger sidewalls does take comfort away again, but it can be managed by tyre pressures.

My 2ply Kumho KL71 muds have a much harder ride than my 3-ply BFG ATs had. Off-road I have to run significant lower pressures on the KL71s to prevent kidney damage or being thrown out the window.

You only need to be stuck in mud once with HT's or AT's to realise that the most comfortable tyres are MT's.....

Unless you have the money for a set of P-rated street tyres (AT or HT) and a set of muds for playing/overlanding.
