Be VERY VERY careful what you hope for.

Even in that article issues like "what will it be replaced with" and "how will road operations and maintenance and paying off the loans" be accomplished.

Answers are nicely sidestepped as scrapping E-Tolls will win votes, but the alternatives wont.

ANC putting itself under pressure. Scrap etoll and then they want an inquiry into the fuel price.

You cannot loot as you please and then look into the models that generate the revenue to loot. Or is this the perfect system...

Reading that news article, you cannot help but wonder what kind of people would elect people like that to represent them?

"Engrave the number plates"... and "stone age"

It's like me paying for somebody else's PAYE.
Which is how the Gauteng, Cape town and KZN users is paying for the rest of the countries roads

I am quite sure everyone in Gauteng would happily have the money for our roads taken out of the money we pay that goes towards the rest of the countries roads

Would not be a good and fair idea so lets be fair and remove the E-tolls which was 10 times worse

And lets be clear here I am talking about how E-tolls was implemented in Gauteng
Not the technology used or the base idea behind making automatic technological toll roads

The "We will rob Gauteng blind" part of how SANRAL did it in Gauteng

you can call it media hype but SANRAL hasn't successfully challenged any claims of corruption

Outa welcomes ANC Gauteng's move to scrap e-tolls
So no matter what this will work out well
If the Gauteng ANC succeeds then we will finally be rid of the scum's toll system

If the ANC Gauteng loses then they will lose more votes
    Win win
