Feel the same. I watched RC jet model aeroplanes on youtube yesterday. Just as impressive.

    Wow!!
And the skill - an absolutely perfect landing too.
    Impressed!!
(Oh, I was in the Navy - so the engines were very much bigger and the sound and revolutions was at a much lower pitch - but also impressive in their own way.)

Fun toy and it sounds good

But I must be honest I feel that he "hid" the cockpit way too much
Even the P-51 that set the land speed record for propeller air craft had more pronounced cockpit

Yes . Menno parsons owns one called mustang sally - he is down in the cape somewhere but he does tour the airshow circuit. So if you attend something like the rand airshow you are likely to see it.
no rand show this year but just look here and see at which ones he will be.

actually he will be at swartkops airshow on the 7th of september

Yes, Merlin V12. Something like 30 litres in capacity if I recall correctly.

Guy Martin actually has one from a Spitfire mounted on a trailer, uses it as a toy. Sound incredible!! There should be some clips on youtube if you're interested.

I am a personal friend of Menno Parsons who owns Mustang Sally ----had the honor to fly with him and as I am a pilot myself, I was allowed to take the controls for a while.
I build my own P51 RC model plane with modified exhaust system ---the target was 300 Kmh but I could only reach 275 max -----sold the plane after the las attempt----cost to much money.
    Grow old disgracefully
