    Default Giving away old tyres.

This is a little off topic, but it does relate to any tyres on offer in this thread.

    http://www.edmunds.com/car-care/how-...our-tires.html

How Long Does a Tyre Last?
Carmakers, tyre makers and rubber manufacturers differ in their opinions about the lifespan of a tyre. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has no specific guidelines on tyre aging and defers to the recommendations of carmakers and tyre manufacturers. Carmakers such as Nissan and Mercedes-Benz tell consumers to replace tyres six years after their production date, regardless of tread life. Tyre manufacturers such as Continental and Michelin say a tyre can last up to 10 years, provided you get annual tyre inspections after the fifth year.
The Rubber Manufacturers Association says there is no way to put a date on when a tyre "expires," because such factors as heat, storage and conditions of use can dramatically reduce the life of a tyre.

Herein lies the crux - who does this ? Most people do not even check their tyre pressures regularly !! The comments I made earlier, were based on info I got from the Goodyear (Tycon) rep during the '90s

If you really want to be safe then check, check, check... and not only tyres.

Could you send me a pic or two and also the dimensions? I have a friend with an IO who would probably love this. Thanks.

The tired tyre will be retired after suitable holes cut into sidewalls, would not want to risk someone's life.

This orchid was left in the house that we bought 2 years ago. It has survived until now. We do not know what to do with it. Also no idea what type it is, but I am sure an orchid lover can get some joy from it. Free to collect before I throw it away.
