I have a question about how one switched the DC to the element. Surely the Geyserwise is not rated to switch 40 - 60 V DC at a current of 16 to 25 Amps?

Early systems used an electronic Solid State Relay to switch the DC. The are expensive and unreliable.

Mew systems use a MPPT controller which is used to both improve PV panels performance and control the amount of current delivered to the element.

    R23K excluding installation!?

You can almost get a brand new 300L Solar Thermal System for that amount of money.

I hope you find an installer. Good luck

Are you still looking for an installer? I own a solar installation company, based in Gauteng and we can do the installation for you. I can also supply the kit at a better price.
