Default House Fire at Paradise, Kleinkraans

    Hi all

Just thought I should inform you that Oom Jacques house burnt down about 2 hours back

It is the wooden structure (where we all pump up our tyres after a fun day on the dunes) and his house adjacent to it.

I work at the Fire Department and our fire fighters informed me that he has lost EVERYTHING

Our thoughts and prayers are with him in this tragic time.

    Hi Miems
I have volunteered the FWDC (Garden Route) to make a donation of R1500.00 immediately, he does not even have clothes at this stage.
I am going to post our clubs bank details and we will ensure he gets all donations. ... thanks for volunteering Tammy (Baby Tritons SWAMBO)

How long does your insurance typically take in a case like this?

Could be years, I've heard some horror stories. A couple that I know battled fro almost 4 years before they finally could put it all behind them.

I can't give to much right now but enough so that he can at least buy some undies, if all give a bit then he can be dressed and have a place to sleep tonight.

Hi, all I have just come from Jacques place. His place has burnt flat to the ground. The police was still on the scene though, as they suspect Ďarsoní. Oom Jacques could not find some of his items/belongings which was in his safe cupboard made out of steel as the locks were broken.
Oom Jacques was In George at the time the fire started and it is alleged that someone broke into his place and set the place on fire to cover up.
He felt terrible as he has lost many sentimental items/goods.

The police has assisted him with food and drinks. He told me that he will have a temporarily place to sleep. It was difficult to speak to him, as he was very much emotional of what had happened. I have told him that the 4x4 forum, from as far up north would like to support him.
He has asked me to give him some time, just to get his head together.
He is currently still mobile with his bakkie. I think that monetary donations will be of good, which he will have to use for whatever needs arise.

George Fire department is also arranging a temporally structure to be put up at Oom Jacques place, with a mattress and blankets. We will meet with him 2morrow morning and give him the monies. I will keep you posted....

It was reported as it is against the terms of service, the deletion was in line with all previous request for donation threads, I was out and unable to read it, can only now go and look.

You can imagine if everybody has a friend that has fallen on hard times and starts a please donate thread.

Yip I agree (shoe see I said it )
I see Dirk has moved it to the Southern Cape. I am really grateful, it's not often I get involved in this sort of thing but Jacque really has lost everything and the least we can do is help out. I have sent out to Rebel 4x4 as well and also Craig at Landy World, lets see if we can help out a bit. If you can think of anyone else, go for it.

I made a donation after reading the deleted thread and I didn't use the correct reference. My reference was my forum name. I hope he comes right, sounds like the police and fire department are being very helpful, good on them.
