+1 for Sedgefield. For the past two years, we have rented a house on the lagoon over New Year and it is paradise - fresh black mussels plucked in front of the house for supper. Knysna etc within easy reach. You just have to keep an eye on the kids when the tide is sucking as it can move pretty fast. The beach is also great there, and the walk to Gericke's Point and its tidal pools at low tide for snorkelling is lovely. Some good little restaurants in the village.

I'd say Knysna, Buffalo Bay is a great swimming beach.

Leisure Isle in Knynsa has a passable swimming beach for little ones.

I love Wilderness area... for the past 2 Decembers we rented a cottage in the forests inland from Wilderness, just past Hoekwil. Place is called Beyond The Moon. 10 minutes and you're on Wilderness' blue flag San Parks controlled beach, and when you're done with the awesome beach, head back into the forests to experience one of the best braai spots Ive ever had! Kids love it, wife loves it, I love it!

Everything upto Knysna and to George is a short drive away, so everyone is happy!

George has no beach, but then nor does Knysna (ok well sort of)
My advice is Buffalo Bay but then no shops and no nothing really.
Then well go with NicOos, Sedgefield or alternatively Wildernis which would be my choice, can't beat it. Wildernis will give you access to all the surrounding places like George, Knysna and Oudtshoorn. Take a drive to Knysna, branch off to Kom se Pad and link up with Prins Alfreds Pass, a beautiful (understated) drive. Take a drive up Montagu Pass and head off to Oudtshoorn via the old gravel roads, visit the Cango Caves and some ostrige Farms, Calitsdorp is just 45 minutes away with world renowned ports.
Knysna is just toooo far one side of the triangle. Wildernis beach has to be one of the very best available and Paradise 4x4 route is on your doorstep for some fun in the sand.

My kids like swimming(beach), I like mountains, swambo likes 5 star hotel , what do you guys recommends

Try Forest Edge near Knysna, right next to indigenous forest and 20 minutes from Buffalo Bay
