Hi
Was at Forever resorts last weekend!! Got at last the change to test the Chinaman on a 4x4 trail. "Impressed" that is the word that comes to mind. Rocky mountain trail. No problem. Did not even break a sweat at all. Crawled up and down with no problem. Some Defender and Rangers struggled at some obstacles. The tunland did not slip or slide.
Happy Cappy!!!8)

Currently do not own a 4x4, driving a sedan

I saw one at Klein Paradys Brits last weekend, very nice looking bakkie
I'd love to see one in action.
We did have a Versus Series Double Cab Challenge, but only Japanese Bakkies & an Amarok attended...
That lock of a rear locker is an issue though...
Will try to load some later. Must say the limited slip diff work wonders.
Hi Uitzicht,
I have a foton 4x4. I got mine 6 months ago and i am loving it.
I want to ask you about your limited slip diff, i cant seem to get mine to work.
I have got myself into a few situations where the lsd should have worked but did'nt.
Is there something i need to do for it to work?
thanks.

Well i had one wheel in the air, and the other one was on the ground.
The wheel in the air was only spinning. There was no power sent to the wheel on the ground. I dont know how to "activate" lsd ??
I had to use 4L for the front wheels to pull me out.

I was'nt in 4L because i was actually testing the lsd.
I have already jacked up the back of the bakkie and done the spin test.
I spun the one wheel by hand and noticed that the other wheel also spun in the same direction. Apparently this is correct for lsd.
Does the lsd only "kick in" at the correct rpm's?

Hi
yes lsd work on its own. On 4h it does not work that great . On 4L it kicks in much sooner .
Sorry let me understand this...
Does the lsd not work at all if i'm not in either 4L or 4H?

It should work all the time but my experience showed me it work much better in 4L. different lsd have different ways and some kicks in much earlier than other. I might install a diff lock in the future. but currently i do not need one as the tunland 4x4 capability are very good with out a diff lock.
Thanks very much.
I'll run some more tests.

have you done some mods on your tunland? Is it still standard?
Its is standard yes. The only thing i have done is have a dastek chip installed!

chip? wanted to install one in mine also but there was only 1 available and i was the ginny pig.Did it make a difference? What is the chip model number etc. What branch did it for you? sorry for all the queastions but almost nobody on the forum got tunlands. I did a lot off mods on mine. most for protection.
No problem!
Yes the guys at Steves Auto Clinic in Vanderbijlpark helped me.
The on board computer is not under the passenger seat, it’s under the bonnet so they had to install a plugin harness
And fit the uni chip under the bonnet. But I am very happy with the performance, I have gained another 12 killowat or so.
