Default 1oz Fine gold Cape Triangular Medallion

Hi Wonderful people of the 4x4 community, given the size of the forum I'm sure someone is able to help me with a bit of advice. I have this medallion that was given to me many years ago, when I turned 21 it officially became mine. Now for many reasons that aren't relevant to a public forum, this carries zero sentimental value to me. This is why I am considering selling it.

Detail of the medallion are as follows:
    1oz 22ct fine gold
Specially minted to commemorate the Cape triangle stamp from back in the day.
Only 1000 were made according to the certificate.
I have the original box, purchase papers and certificate.

Now I was wondering if anyone out there know of collectors of these? or and auction where I can put it up.

I've been to the s'coin shop and City Coin in Cape town, but say they can only give me its value in Gold( currently around the R12k mark I believe). Which at the end of the day is still a good sum of money, but that would be my last resort.

I have attached pictures of the medallion.

Hi Souti (what happened to the 'e'?)

I'm sure the medallion is worth more than the gold value, certainly more than R12k. Ask Stephan Welz & Co (google it). You might be pleasantly surprised. Only drawback is it is probably of limited interest, stamp collectors mostly.
    Obviously....
One must wait till evening to see how splendid the day has been

I never liked the 'e' at the end, so I got rid of it

Thanks for the info, I'll contact them to see what they say.

I am involved in the coin industry, so I would not know the value of these stamps, but I do know that when gold was trading at US$1,900-00 a lot of people sold these at meltdown value, so yes these stamps have become very scarce. I will check around and find out if there is somebody in the industry who can give a value.
