    Default 12 V - Trailer wiring ...

I've got an Echo electrical box that behaves weird, batteries are charged, when connected, 12 V doesn't work, only after pushing the MAN-start button, but as soon as the box is disconnected from 220 V, the 12 V is not working any more.

We opened the box, exchanged the little fuse, but no success. Everything seems to be fine.

Apart from my question did anybody had that phenomen before,
I thought, I can connect the 2 12 V lights and the 2 Hella plugs directly to the battery.

What wire mm and do I need to build in a fuse?

Sounds like there is a problem with the connection between the hcdp panel and the battery. Check the fuse on the positive pole of your battery. I had the same problem and it drove me nuts until I discovered that the 80A fuse on the battery was damaged.

Thanks so far, will check out tomorrow

When I avoid the box and wire the 12 V lights and the Hella Plugs directly to the batteries,
what fuse size must I use?

This might sound silly but check the battery leads where it plugs in to the board. I have had that plug come loose just enough to break contact but look connected. Unplug it and plug it back again just to be sure

Finally found the reason, while I stripped all in search of that 80 amp fuse (which we have only in one trailer), the negative connection of one battery was broken off.

We had upgraded our batteries last year at the local Battery Clinic and they had taped (don't know the right word now)with cable channels, the leads nicely packed, x cable binders around, but one couldn't see the contacts.

Suggest you get a 80 Amp fuse and get it on the positive lead between the battery and panel.
Must be as close as possible to the battery.
Seen a situation where the fuse was not in place and a short took place where the cables come out of the battery box, it was not run in the channel and the lid worn the insulation down.
Almost a catastrophic situation at a campsite.

PS - 50 Amp will also do the job.

Thought the same, can't understand why Echo does not build a fuse in.
8 trailers only one with a fuse...

Will do it when we "springclean" our trailers in the next weeks after holiday.
