On the bottom hinge place two small washers between it and the body .You may need more or less depending on the wear.
This solved my problem on the Prado 90.

I did the washers on my 120 and it worked a treat, I put the washers in between the door and the hinge and not between the body and the hinge been fine for about 4 months now.

I bought two new hinges from Toyota and they install it with a new rear door rubber seal for less than R2000.

Seam on the door splits causing door to sag to confirm this, open door and push it further open against hinge and watch the outer vs inner skin by bottom hinge. had same problem and replaced the door. TSA supplied the door free of charge my car was way out of warranty and no full Toyota service history, I just had it painted and spent weekend swapping door.

Nope all done at dealer level. It's a well known problem with a Toyota Technical bulletin that was issued to their dealers, and I did suggest I may take it further as it was a design and manifacture fault. My car was 6 years old and had not seen the inside of a dealer for 3 of them at the time.

Did the spacer method (added 2mm spacers to the bottom hinge)the weekend and problem solved, the rear door closes perfectly.

did mine with spacer as well... Used a plastic vital vitamin bottle and cut two washers as the thinnest metal washers were to thick... Worked a charm. I would recommend the plastic rather than metal as it reduces rust issues down the line...

I am glad that the spacer method works. I used galvanised washers, rust should not be a problem.

Default Re: Prado 120 Rear door sagging-Solution?

    Hi All,

Prado door is sagging now to the point where i have to lift it onto lock and push to get it to close, I.E I cant just slam it shut. It is probably sagging 2cm.

There is also a 30cm crack in the door running up the weld by the hinges - is this a serious issue? It has been there for a while with no real harm.

I have tried looking at this: http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-rear-door-fix .... But all the photos have been taken down.

    Any affordable suggestions?

    Kind Regards,

    James
