Default Fuel Consumption - Polo 1600TDI

Does anyone have some actual consumption figures of this car?

I am looking at buying one as a work and back vehicle and the quoted figure is 17km/l.

I will be driving 160km daily just highway to work and back on a constant 120km/h so I would assume il get decent km/l on it?

    I had the Cross Polo 1.6TDI. 41 000km.
I would say 17km/l is very likely. But it's all relevant.
Mountains / Uphills on route. Windy conditions. Cooler days seemed better. All of these play a roll.

I logged all my fill ups on Fuelly, and the total average over 41 000km was 16.4km/l. I have to mention, we lived in Nelspruit, everywhere we went was an uphill.

The difference between the 1.6 and 1.2 TDi at 120km/h will be negligible. The 1.6 will be better to drive.

However, drop your speed to 100-105km/h and the 1.2 TDi Bluemotion will return figures that almost defies physics.

Not yet. My upper budget limit is R150k so basically anything with an aircon will do, provided i get more than 16km/l.

This one just popped up at my brother in laws dealership. Its a 2012 model with 60k km on for close to R150k.

But if a small petrol car can give approximately the same il go for that as well. Im in any case gona drive it untill the wheels fall of so resale not a problem.

+1 on the 1.2TDi if you drive it like a Jan Hettema JHB to CT Camry you will get over 30km/l from it.

But where's the fun in that.

You should get better figures than that, at least 20 km/l.

I have a 2.0TDI Caddy as delivery van, and I get about 17km/l in and around town.

My brother had the bluemotion and never got less then 22km/l driving like a speedracer. He could easily get 25km/l and that little 1.2tdi has plenty power.

Il have a look at the bluemotion then. I really am a slow poke so will rarely go above 120kmh and its flattish highway.

Il see if I can find a good prices one around.

Just filled the Caddy up now again, and got 16km/l. This is mostly town driving doing deliveries and about 30-40% highway driving.
