    Default Nyika park advise needed.

    Hi,

Does anyone know if you can drive from Chelinda to Livingstonia.

There is a road on our map but not sure if it's used.

    Cheers,

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

I assume you want to drive to Livingstonia across the plateau without going down and via Rumphi. That was not possible when I was last there a few years ago and is unlikely to be possible now. One of the best maps is in the National Geographic African Adventure Atlas. It does not show a road. If you don't have the Atlas I recommend that you get it. It is an excellent resource.

Nope, you can only walk with a guide to Livingstonia, it is a 4 day trail .

That's correct. There is a hiking track that crosses the North Rumphi River near Nganda Peak and then down to Livingstonia - spectacular hike - but no road.

    Thanks for this,

We went the long way round. Beautiful part of Africa and we saw a leapord in the campsite. Well worth the detour.
