    Default Moremi to Kasane..

    Hi chaps,

Found this forum really useful so far, thanks to everyone who has contributed to all the knowledge on it. Myself and a friend are taking a Prado around Botswana this December and we are trying to plan our route from Moremi to Kasane - in one day (and one vehicle). Im aware that the rains could be quite bad and the route to Kasane sounds like it can get very waterlogged. What would you guys recommend as the best way to go?

Thanks in advance and looking forward to hearing from anyone who can help!

    Welcome to the forum .
Where in Moremi are you going to leaving from ,from 3rd Bridge It is a push at best ,and in the rain very difficult ,it can be done ,I have done it from South Gate ,but it is a very long day ,take the sand ridge road in Dec ,not the marsh road if it has rained a lot ,did this marsh road yesterday ,was okay but full of black cotton mud in the wet season .

Edit : Sorry ,sand or dune road and marsh roads are once you enter Savuti from Mababe gate !!

Also my trip this Dec / Jan.....

    Travelling from Maun>Third Bridge>Khwai>Savuti>Kasane...

What should I look out for (Disco3 - also single vehicle, but three single nights at 3rd Bridge, Khwai and Savuti)... Recommendations are very welcome - its been 25 years since I did this last!

Thanks for the advice. We will be leaving from Khwai - so the sand ridge road should be ok? Presuming getting to Mababe gate at Savuti from Khwai should be relatively straight forward!

    Thanks again Puma130

Just did Kasane to Khwai, left at 1000 and was in Khwai by 1630. The road is not bad at the moment, went the Marsh Road and it was fine. There was however Big thunderstorms while we stayed at Khwai this week towards Savuti, so I think the marsh road will be in a bad state soon. From Goha Gate to Kasane is fine, stay as far north as you can after leaving the Cutline that heads towards Linyanti.

    Enjoy!
