    Hi, UITZICHT.

I haven't received notifications of this thread because... I forgot to suscribe!

Your skid plate seems great. I have to replace mine, if you take a look on it. Stock one is very thin and I have to ride on very bad trails.

What about your bakkie? You bought yours after me and your odometer surpassed mine soon. I am barely arriving to 14 000 km. I recently knew another one working in oil fields in the Orinoco southeastern plains with 80 000 km on it.

    Hi

Got my as Demo 4x4 lux top of the range for R199 900. No problems and very happy customer. But take it for a test drive. I will get the 4x4. There is some bargains available. you should be able to get a 4x4 with few km on it for 250k.

Hola Rob, did you have a chance to ask the guy with 80.000 kilometers on his Tunland about reliability issues ?
I'm also thinking of buying one.

    Haai, Defender1619.

Well, my talk with this guy was like the classic movie: brief encounter. I saw him one day at the dealer when I went to change a burned “fog light” (they’re not really fog lights). I only remember that he was satisfied, working hard, the km on the odometer and the region where he had it working for an oil company (those corporations rent cars to transport personnel, with or without driver). They ride on dirt roads, as I could note because of dry mud from bottom to top on the Tunland that day. When a field is in production, oil companies keep those trails in better condition, but during exploration they may be as the example in the link:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNpUWjWTXPc

It’s from guys working in seismic exploration, for sure for an oil company because of the name GSS and the place (town of San Martin, department of Meta).

Another worst one (It’s our “Africa”, and I don’t want to be pejorative, only to explain the idea with my short vocabulary):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPJunCXU5Yc

On the other hand, mine is near 17.000 km now, and I’m always satisfied with Tunland’s cost-benefit ratio, more now than when I bought it because the dollar exchange rate rise. Two years ago the Tunland costed a little bit more than a half of a Hilux, but with an expensive dollar the Hilux price grew up more than doubled the Tunland’s one.

    Hi, defender1619.

There is a thread for general discussion about the Tunland:
    http://4x4community.co.za/forum/show...hlight=Tunland

And there is another for images:
    http://4x4community.co.za/forum/show...hlight=Tunland

So we will keep order and won’t “disperse forces” of the few owners or interested people that we are, on many threads with very few comments, unless one want to discuss a specific subject/problem, i. e. a mate with a question on auto locking doors:
    http://4x4community.co.za/forum/show...hlight=Tunland

    Have a good day.
