    Greetings

For all current (and remorseful ex) owners and post lurkers, i am considering selling my 2007 SC

So not an official for sale post, nor yet convinced to put into the classifieds, but more a post to see if there is interest.
The vehicle has 207 000km, full service history plus additional maintenance: ZF agent flush and refill at 190k km, 4 brand new Continental tyres (500km's ago) comes with spare fuel pump (just in case, as the originals die at around 200k km) new alternator fitted, new battery.

Everything works* and all accessories are included (rear headphones/remote; roofracks, dog guard)

*The car is due an oil change and the AC needs to be looked at, (Compressor works) i think just a re-gas required as the AC stopped working after the alternator replacement, as it necessitates the disconnection of the AC pressure feed line)

Car is in Fish Hoek area CT, spread the word or PM me for more info.

    Now I am confused.

I starter her again, she leveled the out to std ride height and then locked the airsuspension inactive.

    Wont lift or drop.
She's steady and I don't have the air leak noise either.
This sounds more pump than an air leak...

But then why would she only drop in the front and not the rear?

Don't discount a faulty front valve block, if that leaks then the back stays up..

Its an easy item to get to, well worth the look and strip, I even had a strip down thread in that very regard on this forum for the fattie front valve block..

Pump stripped and wheel lining removed to get to the valve block. Only to find it under the driver side door.Click image for larger version.

Thats a totally different setup to mine, obviously a change was made to the later models, even the compressor on mine has been changed to the Hitachi unit..

I wonder in which year the change happened..??..

Sorry Benson, sems the change in compressor & valve block was from 2010 onwards. I imagine the functionality is the same..

At least now you know how to take your wheelbay lining off..

Right so new seals are on.
Out the pump back in. It did not loose one ounce of air from last week. As I drive out the drive way I hear the shhhhhh on the right wheel and the she drops.
But now I see some other things wrong.Click image for larger version.

Could these springs also be a problem?
I'll be taking the shock out either way to see if it is the culprit.

Benson can you replicate the "driveway" fault and jump out as she drops to see if you can pinpoint the leak area, ie is the noise from the bladders or from the valve block or somewhere else..

I know this is annoying, but these air things can drive us nuts on most days.. After having purchased 2 new as yet unfitted bladders mine hardly drops a cm anymore..!!..

Cracks on the bladders are more prominent in the area where the bag folds upwards because the bladder stretches there, maybe as your suspension moves getting out of the driveway the cracks are exposed..

Sorry, you might have mentioned this, is it both dropping at the same time or just one??

    cheers -

Does it drop as you steer??, unlike the discoveries & sport these bladders rotate with steering, just maybe you have a leak at the junction between the pipe and the shock on rotation. Possibly the small o-ring on the fitting has perished??

So I am tired with stressing about my tyre problems, and since my fattie is beginning to show the suspension failure all too often I decided that now is the time for some open heart surgery..

Started off with a reasonably empty boot..

Compressor housing, nice to work in the boot and not under in the dirt..

Stock Hitachi compressor in there, same as the D3, only difference is the inlet filter and the addition of some silencer tanks, not sure of their functionality..

Removed and left plumbing behind, no air is lost from the tank as the valves are still in place..
