Bought 5l of normal atf and just ran it through the system for a semi flush. A lot of water contaminated oil still cane out. So much I was afraid it could be more damage than just the fluid cooler. Then I sat down had a beer and realized that the bloody filter is probably still full of it.
Do I have to replace the filter? It was done in Dec 2017
Or will it just work through?
    Hi Benson

you will need to drop the sump on the gearbox and remove the valve body to have it serviced. Failure to do so will cause problems due to the coolant contamination. The best place to do that would be ZF.

Next time you are in Pretoria swing past my place and can I can then disable the the seat and steering column comfort settings for you. I have the special diagnostic software (RSW Solutions) for these units.

    Good luck!

Put everything back together and she gears and runs
Only see a stream of oil down my driveway.
The bloody oil cooler is slightly different and the one pipe did not handle the pressure and came off.
Can I cut it and clamp it?
It has a slight curve and the existing bit does not fasten properly

    Hi Benson

take heed of my comments about the valve body. Failure to do so will land you up with a full gearbox rebuild. Budget around R30K for that should the proverbial hit the fan.

Undoubtedly. But there's no one in Bloem that I would trust with an Auto box.

    Hi Benson

Your rig got the ZF 6HP26 6-speed box. You will therefore be looking for at a Dexron 6 ATF. Basically the same ATF as in the D3's. You will have to look at the rear of the bottle where it gives the spcecs to see what ATF it is.

    Good luck!

    Hi Benson

ok then your unit was built before July 2005.

Ask Sean from the Gearbox Company on what oil to use. He can assist you there. Top shop and very willing to help. Also found him to be honest and keeping to his word. I.e. he comes highly recommended

Just for your info, the diesel variant of your model used the BMW M57D30 motor (straight six) and was fitted with a GM 5L40E 5-speed box. That is the one I got.

On Monday she will return to the mechie to do the whole thing again.🤞

Will be taking the old lady out for a leg stretching this weekend.
Quick question, with these 19" rims, what tyre pressuresnare are safe for and adviced when offloading. I'm thinking around 1.2-1.5 bar.

    Hi benson,

I haven't had a chance to take her properly off road yet, but I would think, rather have thwm a little harder, 1.5 - 1.8. It's a heavy vehicle.

Best would be to gauge by side wall deformation. Some tyres have stronger side walls than others and this must be kept in mind.

True, I have a very soft set on, so 1.8 would be do the trick.

Now next question. Would the Expedition roofrack in the classifieds fit the L322?

Two ways to find out is see if you can get dimentions from the seller, not sure if height will be same disco and fattie.

Alternatively as far as I know that is an OEM roof rack, could cross- reference part numbers with a dealership.

Not sure, too many differences to the Supercharged.

    1. First off, no Supercharged badge at the back.
    2. 19" Wheels on the car, Supercharged came with 20" (255/50R20) wheels.
    3. Does not have the Supercharged's mesh grille or frosted rear lights.
    4. If the oil cooler is BMW sourced, it is definitely not an SC. The SC engine was Jaguar sourced.
    5. SC definitely had the ZF 6 speed box fitted, not the 5 speed.

Neglected the RRSC since we bought the "toy".

Will give her (or is it him) a bit of attention by cleaning it over the weekend.

But sadly I must say, the tyres perform well apart from the sidewalls. These rubbers are darn soft.Name: IMG_2832.jpg
