Just arrived back home after 4000kms trip of which about 1800kms were towing a boat.

Car never missed a beat other than being a bit loud with the current exhaust setup - will chat to Elton so that we can tone it down a bit.

Tyre of the boat trailer burst did not even have an effect on the car - we heard the tyre pop, felt a slight tug as it went down but the car remained stable throughout and I was able to keep it in a straight line with not much effort until we could find a safe place to stop. This in itself will make me buy another one of these amazing cars - it's just so stable on the road and you just feel safe and comfortable in it. Even with the boat behind cruising and overtaking was still a breeze (little bit more effort than not towing).

Now just to save up for the 5.0SVR version

    Glad you are all 100%.

A good time you made there Trevor considering the misshap with the trailer wheel.

    Amazing cars indeed.

Thanks George - yes these vehicles are amazing. Did a 750km round trip on Friday past and could still do more if needed.

    Default Eurospeed to the rescue

Car went back to Elton after we accidentally wiped the massage he gave the Rangie.

The car is like chalk and cheese with and without the massage. It's amazing how the car feels so much smoother and relaxed. Its also about 1.5l/100km lighter on fuel with the massage.

But Eltons put the smile back on my face and all is well again.

    Hi All

Satnav upgrade is finished. Firmware upgrade to V32.2 done and presto now have 3D navigation and the whole of Southern Africa and no longer only SA.

Currently waiting for delivery of the Factory "BMW" Bluetooth upgrade, which interfaces with the head unit and the voice command module.

Should be fitted by around 6th of June after my return from Europe. Still waiting for the EGR blanking unit, courtesy of our useless SA postal service. (End of last month I received a parcel from US with a fault code reader for my R129 500SL) which was posted in USA mid September last year ).

Default Rear Window Washer Spray - Long delay before water sprays

    Hi All

I have come up with a solution to the irritating long time delay before water sprays onto the rear window, when operating the wiper/washer.

Especially if having driven in very dusty and or muddy condition, operating that rear wiper without a strong spray of water only results in a holy mess, let alone the possibility of a scratched rear window pane. It now sprays instantly without time delay

When back from Europe I will post pics of what and how I did this.

    Mr Bosch

I have a pdf of the early L322 workshop manual slowly loosing data on my desktop screen (System Description & Operation). Its not a techie torque & tune & how to fix it document, but might help you systems wise.

Are you at all interested, can I upload it to you somehow??

    Kind Regards -

What is wrong with you where are the pics?

Would be nice for some close-ups of the USB set ups.

Replaced rear brakes (Ferodo in LR branded boxy). Can get them at MIDAS FOR 50% less

Thanks to Disco-Deon for the use of his driveway, tools and knowledge (Thumbsup to you)

Replaced wiper blades. Seems only the dealers stock these and they last about (well less than) a year.

Partial hijack-Any big body owners out there with modified RR for off road use? Seems to be catching on in the US and there is a guy in Aus with a RR sport that does some serious off roading.
