Default 4x4 Double Cab Comparison Day

Ok, so we would like to compare the different double cabs to each other after a number of threads on this. Especially the traction control (or the vehicles without it). The day will be open to all other 4x4s as well.

Where: Sandwani 4x4 Trail (Directions to follow).
    When: 16 December
Time: Registration with coffee and rusks @ 08:00, Start at 08:30.
Cost: R400 per vehicle (Including driver) & R200 per passenger/spectator (Pre-payment will be required to confirm your spot). Children under 12 are free and only need to pay R50 for lunch and 2 cold drinks. (Note that the usual cost is R500 per vehicle and R250 per passenger)
    The cost includes the following:
    - 4x4 Trail
    - Academic track (mini Gerotek not open to the public), really something special and will be the ideal testing enviroment.
    - Figure 8 track
    - 1/4 Mile track
    - Includes instructor (Albert de Villiers)
    - Lunch
    - 2 cold drinks

Number of spots: 20 vehicles (24max)

    Program for the day:
    - Start with the training track (Includes Axle Twisters, Uphills, Side Slopes etc)
    - After the training track we can do a brake test on gravel
    - Lunch (you can bring your own, or buy at the Restaurant)
    - After lunch we can do the trail part across the road
    - Possible Figure 8 and/or 1/4 mile if you want

Other 4x4 vehicles (Fortuner etc. will also be allowed, but the theme for the day will be to compare the double cabs)

    Payment details:

    ABSA Bank
    Cheque account
    Acc: 4075315638
    Branch code: 632005

    Default Rules for the day

    Some general rules:
*You have to have a 4x4 (Double Cab) to drive the track. 4x2 with diff lock will not work. You will damage your vehicle and the track, sorry.
*No alcohol allowed on the track or during lunch! You can have one after the drive.
*You have to book and pay in advance to in order for Sandwani to cater for food and drinks please. Your booking is only secured if you paid. First come first serve.
*This is a 4x4 fun day, we will have some fun
*If it rains, the training track is closed and we will have to reschedule.

    On the track:
*I will lead the group for the day
*We can have a short discussion on each vehicle
*We will test: TC, Hill descent control, hill hold control, uphill pull away.
*We will do a gravel road brake test
*We will drive the 4x4 trail
*We will do a track on the skid pan
*We will do a mile race

I will discuss more detailed rules on the day.

If you dont want to do an obstacle there will be an escape route and I will be there to assist the new guys.

I hope to see a vehicle from each manufacturer.

    Directions to Sandwani

Would really enjoy doing Sandwini again, but unfortunately my 'Rok will be at the panel beaters for a bit of hail damage repair at that time.

For any meaningful comparison, you would have to ensure that all vehicles use the same tires and tire pressures, as all are not created equal. Will you be insisting on standard suspension and ride hight?

you have a point BUT the plan is to test them as they came out the factory, so regardless of tire type , also pressure, I like 1.7 when I off-road some might like 1.5 to 1.4 so what ever suites you ..

BUT would be best of we can have them all factory standard.
