OOOOOps a tipe mistake with the tyres, but on the positive side, some feed back on my Botsalano trip.
Left centurion with my friend on Thursday 12hoo and arrived at Botsalano at around 5h00.
We took the route Coligny,Lichtenburg,Mafeking. It is a bit further than going through Zeerust, but no toll gates.
    Some pics of our caravans:

We were at Botsalano for 4 nights and decided on staying at one camp site, not knowing the place at all, we decided on Lerako camp site which is almost in the middle of the park, this would give us some change to drive all the routs in the park and visit the other camp sites with out spending the whole day out, short drives every day.

Some pics of the Lerako Camp:

Huge was our surprise for the amount of wild live in the small park, Impala, Springbok, Kudu, Eland, Gemsbok, Waterbuck, Steenbok, Blesbok, Red Hartebeest, Black Wildebeest, Zebra, Common Warthog, Giraffe and the largest is the White Rhinoceros. The bird life is plenty full.

There are 5 camp sites in the park, one at the gate with 5 or 6 camp sites and communal ablution with hot water made by a donkey.Personaly won't camp there, the day visitors area is just across the street. There were no day visitors while we were there.

The other 4 camp sites is in 4 different corners or places in the park.Every site has a flash toilet with a view in front and to the sky and a cold outside shower.

Some pics of Sentry Hill camp:

This campsite is the furthest from the entrance gate +- 8 km, at the bottom of a hill over looking the grass fields. All the campsites is open so the animals are free to walk in.We had some springbok coming very close.

Some pics of Legora Camp site:

I think this camp site is my favorite, but we did not have a change to visit the 4th camp site, an excuse to visit again soon.

If you want to be on your own or with a friend alone in the bush where the fox is still active at night, no power and no hot water this is the place to be for a long weekend or if close by a normal weekend will also do.

    I'll be back!!!!!!!!!!!

    Default Current status

This looks like a great overnight stop on the way back from Nam.
Anyone have a recent update on current status - what's it like now.?

John, I haven't been there in 2 years but it is a fantatsic park, It is a North West PArks board park so you could give them a call to get current status or send a message to [email protected], Lizette used to be a meber here? She is an honorary officer for NWPB and Botsolano is one of her favourite parks.
