    Default smoking hardbody

noticed that the hardbody is smoking a bit This stared today after towing about a 750kg load from Germiston to Pta . I filled up with petrol back 20km before it started . The thing only has 11000km so I doubt that is engine wear . Can dirty petrol make a petrol car smoke ?

    That is no good.

You will have to replace your filter as well...

And maybe remove and clean out the fuel tank. Happened to me many years ago when I was doing some work in Ugie. Started up in morning, missing like hell and black smoke. First cleaned out carb and road tested. After a short distance same thing. Had to have tank cleaned out too.

Happened to my Bantam as well. Filter on pickup tube inside the tank blocked eventually. Had to remove and clean petrol tank, remove filter on pickup tube and installed external filter in engine bay.

Phone the filling station and complain as they sell dirty fuel.........could have been your or my wife's car and she got stuck on the road, she being robbed and raped because of their dirty fuel.
Demand a new full tank or contact the Supplier.

That hardbody has a metal fuel filter underneath almost under drivers seat. Blue smoke is the one to watch out for. Could mean rings and bearings. Also check if oil on spark plugs.

But as you say towing , well maybe ECU adjusted or compensated for the load and should rectify itself shortly when things get to normal. Those engines , well maintained should get well over 250000 klm
