I was there in early July with 8 Czech photographers and we stopped at Spar in Maun to buy meat for the 2 nights we were spending in Moremi.

Sirloin was on special at BWP 32.00 per kilo! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!! I bought two decent pieces for myself and wanted some chicken to take south after the Moremi visit. The half a chicken I wanted to buy was more expensive that the two sirloins! And the steak was great, tasty and really tender. The visitors also bought some and said it was the best meat they had bought in Botswana.

We bought ours early in the day, well before noon. When we went back at around 5pm the meat on display in the fridge was not good and the butchery was deserted, the butchery staff knock off at 5pm.

I have found during my visits in Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia that the meat cuts out in the display fridges are generally the poorer types, with chuck ruling the roost, or maybe really thinly cut T bones. They cater for the local populous and they prefer thinner cuts with a bone in it. If however, you ask if they have rump or fillet in the back, they normally do have it and will cut real decent pieces for you.
We bought around 10AM. There is 2 Spar shops in town. I bought fillet from the one in town and that was awesome. I bought rump sosaties from the fancy one by the airport, and that was inedible. 2 different ones and both bad.

We were there last week, met Andre, he is planning on a number of improvements, we really enjoyed the stay, had a buffalo and an elephant bull at our campsite upon arrival, a hippo with a calf in the river in front of our camp and a hyena in the camp every night .
    Will definitely go back.

    Hi Andre.
Missed you at the Beeld Show, but chatted to your "sidekick". Really looking forward to our 4 nights there from 18th July...
    Seems like an amazing place!!
We'll be driving from Xakanaxa. How far is it from there, and expected travelling time?
From there we're moving on to Savuti for a further 4 nights.

    Hi Puma

Het jy moontlik al so kaart wat die paaie aandui wat ons kan ry opsoek na wild. Ons gaan by Dizhana kamp tydens Julie 2018.

Where is Dizhana? I can't find it on T4A.

Dijara was closed by the locals a couple of years ago. I don't know whether Andre has set up a new camp.

That's fantastic. The locals started hustling people shortly after Andre left so people stopped going. Maybe the locals have learnt that one needs an Andre to maintain a standard acceptable to tourists

Well, I hope we don't get hassled! But all appears to be okay... Andre initially told me that Tshaa was going to repoen, run by the same locals I take it, but when trying to book Tshaa with NDM, they said they're only accepting bookings for Dizhana... so thats why Ive booked there... Im going for 8 nights end June, beginning of July...

No, Dizhana is in the same general area at Tshaa and Dijara, but a separate camp altogether.
For NDM you can use the following email address: [email protected] or visit http://www.ndmtravelagency.com

I'll PM you Andre's contact number...
