Hi Tara and other Forum Members. Is Dijara camp inside the Moremi National Park, or not? If not, does it complicate access/visits to the park and driving to Third Bridge, Khwai River areas, etc. etc. We are booked at Dijara camp for 3 nights in July and any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Willem
Dijara is outside the park - close to the Northgate entry gate for day trips into the park. There are no fences in the Botswana parks and there is game all around that area. Dijara is along the river and much has been seen there.

To enter the parks on a day trip, it's P120 per person / P60 per child and P50 per vehicle as standard Park Fees - payable in Cash (at the gate or in the Wildlife office in Town) 6am to 6pm

    Default Tx Andre

Just returned from a splendid trip around Botswana and want to say thank you to Andre the manager of Dijara camp.

We enjoyed our stay ( 2 nights ) very much.
large, very clean, places with a real flushing toilet and neat bushshower.
and a helpfull Andre................what can one wish more

only problem we had were the lions who continiuosly past by and kept us a wake

Andre, our CV problem was fixed at Kasane. we got there without any problem.
we did not use our 4x4 to often to safe the CV as much as possible.. Thus also saying something about the sandridge road to Savuti ! that was easy going, some deap sand of course but no real problems. The road via the savuti mash was not advisable indeed in Feb - some people were stuck for 2 days . We noticed that the problem with mud roads is that they seem to be nice but only the top surfice is "hard" there under is still very soft

Thank you Andre and of course Tara for arranging the bookings!!!

What is the distance between Maun and Dijara campsite and what would the average travel time be?

Any experiences with Dijara wildlife? What about at night? WeŽll spend one night there and would appreciate info about best places around to increase the chances to spot cats or wild dogs...

You should be okay. Motopi to Maun is approx 4.5 hours, bear in mind that Maun - Dijara time depends on the road conditions. When the road hasn't been maintained for a while I'd add at least another 30 mins to the stated 2 hour travelling time.
