I feel everyone is being negative on this thread. and my Soutie background results in me having to google translate a few posts to understand.

I think we just need to accept that yes, some guys have had more than their fair share of issues with the T6 ( myself included)

but at the end of the day we still love our vehicles. and having exeriences like this just brings us all closer together. Who can honestly say they really want a different vehicle, maybe a different Vin number sure, but not another brand.

Look at Landrover. the Defender guys have tons off vehicle issues, but they wouldnt change it for the world. the "events" they have only strengthens there love for the brand.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

I disagree a bit. I am definitely not married to any brand. I've had Toyota(grew up with Toy & VW), VW, Nissan, Ford, Mazda, Isuzu and Merc.

I love what suits my needs, irrespective of the brand. Currently that is the T6, at the moment a Hilux is last of the mainstream brands on my list, but it is the Hilux I've by far done the most km's in.

I love my T6, it works for me, after almost 2 years and 65k I only had a sump plug that was stripped at a service, they replaced the sump under warranty and gave me a 3.2 Auto 4X4 DC to drive while they waited for the new sump from the factory.

My loyalty lies with what works for me and my dealers service. Would I recommend a T6 to someone else, definitely, but I would suggest you buy it at my dealer.

I can understand that especially with the earlier models there can be teething problems. If the Ford and the dealer can however not sort it out, then let them have it. That goes for any dealer, but here in our town Toy's and John Deere's are worked on behind closed doors. The problems are there, they just keep it quiet, but as long as the dealer sorts the problems, I don't care how they fix it, just keep the customer happy, thats the main thing.

PS. I actually prefer the Mazda over the Ford as a brand, but the looks currently just doesn't work for me.

    Hi Niel

I agree you totally, get what works for you.
I work for a German motor manufacturer , but am also a scout leader over weekends so I need a bakkie, something my employer doesnt produce. hence I drive a Ford. otherwie I would have been on company fleet
I am on my 4th Ranger and Fury group knows me very well with the issues I have had. That being said I still feel the T6 is top of the brand offerings at the moment, and I love my Ranger and servicing dealer.

I used to be a Technician, so I understand the joy of tinkering on cars.
Unfortunately when it is still under motorplan and warranty. this is left to the dealers.
we only get to play with retrofits, accessories etc at home

The only exception was a clutch problem that a new master/slave clutch kit sorted. This was already on our way back through Nam. 1hr labour. The truck is shop floor standard apart from heavy duty Ironman suspension kit.

I think they ask too much for the newer vehicles and they don't seem to last. I believe this applies to all brands.
I agree. I have the 2000 2.5 Drifter. Super reliable and with minor mods I'm at 105 kw and very acceptable fuel economy. I can do all repairs myself and at 300 000 km it's mostly wear and tear parts that needs replacing. The old bakkies were built a lot tougher.

VW voer net 'n sekere aantal voertuie in.
