Default Shongweni River Route Sunday 1 June

    Hi Guys.

Ive spoken to a few guys already. We are planning an outing along the river route in Shongweni this Sunday. For those who have not done it before, all I can say is, its what got me hooked on 4x4ing last year - it was my 1st outing. Have a look in the other threads in the KZN section for photos/motivation.

We are meeting at 8:30, leaving at 9 on Sunday morning,1 June. Venue is at the Polo pony Petrol Station in Shongweni. Take the offramp for Shongweni/Hillcrest on either the N3 or M13 . A few 100 meters from either offramp. Let me know if you not sure where it is.

    Cheers for now
    Grant

PS bring something to munch for when we reach the Waterfall.

Thanks guys for a cool day out. Also for the recovery.

We met this morning with 5 vehicles at the polo pony garage. We decided on the Inanda valley as apposed to the river route. It definitatly wasnt for any 'shiny' rigs and rock sliders would have been tested properly today.

    Will post some pics later.

Rangy going like a dream. The chair belongs to "Whisky" the dog who we are tired of chasing off our chairs, so he got his own. IFS I will for the Toyo brigade.

I have uploaded pics to http://public.fotki.com/boblemon/rocks-in-the-valley/ Enjoy them and comment.

p.s. The Rangy is currently lying second in class with the 4WD club. Not bad for a 29 year old.

Well what more does one say, what a really good day with a great bunch. A really good technical route, sometimes no route and then ending with a good braai, what more could one ask for on a run like this.
Thanks to all and look forward to our next outing.

    Thanks for the sms Grant.

I got to get sorted with a vehicle that can do those trails. I looked at a kzte hilux on saturday and this chop offered me R30k for my zook, I nearly punched him.

    Cheers

It looks like you guys had a load of fun. One of these days I'm going to find time to join you again, but things are just a bit too hectic at the moment.

    Hi Wayne.

Your Zook would have been in trouble in Inanda, but the river route, as planned, you have done and would have got through. At least you looking at Toyota;s now
