Default Th Scooby bug has bitten me! Hello Everyone

    Hi Guys,
The name is Ryno. I mate of mine introduced me to the Subaru world and now I'm hooked! I'm looking at a 2008 Forester XT with 130 000 km and I got the finance. They are waiting for my call to confirm the deal.

I'm 25 years old. Who can I ask for insurance. Rough Stuff quoted R994.77!! They are saying the retail value is R204 000 yet I'm paying R139 000! It's got a tracker, smash and grab and I've never had to claim before. Surely I can get something better.

    Any advice would be great!

I understand that it's higher because I'm 25 but surely it cannot be that high! They have definately got the value wrong

    Hi there.

My 2011 SH XT will sell for R220,000 at stealers!

But the insurance work on the unrealistic books!

But scoobies / fozzies are lovely - go look at my post in overlanding - lesotho - sani.

No other car can do Sani in a Thunderstorm and mist without any TC or wheelspin and do 220km/h true speed and 0 - 100 in 7.2!

Its also a "performance" car - added to your age is a serious cost factor, but shop around, there's a lot of competition in the insurance industry. Unless you're going to across borders and serious kalahari bush stuff, you may not need that type of insurance. Assess your real needs and get insurance to suit that need.

I went to subaru dealership today to get the correct m&m number. 3 insurance companies told me the normal 2.5xt is more expensive than the 2.5xt premium. They all have the newer shapes on their systems. All of them say the retail is over 200k. They are moggy! The search continues....
    thanks
