    Default Hwange walk-in price

I've been reading a few of the threads on here about where to stay in Hwange. I'm a bit unsure of the walk-in fee of $25 pp for the picnic sites. Is it that, if they're available, you only pay $25 pp (rather than the $150/$115 if you book in advance) or do you pay this on top of the usual fee? I'm assuming it would be that you only pay this but you obviously aren't guaranteed to get a site, but wanted to double check.

We're going in November this year, so may only have this option anyway as from everything I'm reading they get booked up way in advance!

    Thanks for any advice...

    Hi Karen
The walk-in fee allows you to camp at the picnic sites for $25pp per night. We were in Hwange in August, booked 11 months in advance, and were fortunate enough to spend 2 nights each at Masuma and Ngweshla....both stunning. The camp attendants there and at Mandavu said that they had not had people camping every night. So by all means ask at Sinamatella or Main camp reception and hopefully there'll be a spot. Or,if you're happy to pay $150, perhaps give Zimparks a call. We also camped at Mucheni 3 in Mana and Mucheni 4 was unoccupied for the 4 nights we were there.
    Have a great trip.

That's really helpful - thank you! (And glad you had such a good trip there yourselves.)
