The advert posted by Johan actually highlights the problem the major players in SA have.
Toyota is selling the Hilux 2.0 bakkie ON SPECIAL for R205 000.00.
This JMC is a 2.8 Turbo Diesel & it's R60k cheaper.

Yes the Hilux is better, but R60k better?

Seriously though, I spent a lot of time looking at the JMC and pondering exactly the same question. Will be very nice to have an objective opinion on one being used everyday in a business.

And let's be honest, it's certainly not the worst looking bakkie in SA at the moment....

And that R60k saving can go a long way at the diesel pump.....

...and buying a DiffLockless GWM PorraXstreme for the same price as a Triton as your 4x4 vehicle...

The old Boarding (which I am buying) is a Chinese made Isuzu KB280 motor.
The new Vigus uses either the old Ford 2.4 diesel (as fitted to the Land Rover Puma until recently)
or the Mitsubishi 2.4 Petrol motor.
No Cummins.

You are thinking of Foton, but they do NOT use a Cummins motor - Foton asked Cummins to design a motor which is made in China by Foton...

Joint Venture Contract between Isuzu Motors and Jiangling Motors



Isuzu Motors Limited (hereinafter called "Isuzu") announced that it has concluded a contract with Jiangling Motors Co., Group (head office: Nanchang, Jiangxi, China) for the production and sales of Isuzu pickups and their engines in China.
Isuzu established Jiangling Isuzu Motors Co., Ltd. in 1993. At the expiry of the contract with Jiangling Isuzu Motors Co., Ltd., Isuzu has decided to reorganize the company as Jiangxi Isuzu Motors Co., Ltd. (tentative) to produce and sell high-end pickups and their derivatives in China, and thus to strengthen relations with Jiangling Motors Co., Group and further improve Isuzu pickup and other vehicle businesses in China. Isuzu has also decided to take a stake in the engine manufacturing company which has been fully owned by the Group, and reorganize it as Jiangxi Isuzu Engine Co., Ltd. (tentative) to produce and sell light-duty diesel engines.

Isuzu expects to receive the new joint venture business licenses from the government in March 2013. Demand for pickups in the Chinese market has been steadily growing, and Isuzu is planning to produce and sell 100,000 pickups in China

It looks like the one in the pic, has fog lights etc.
Flooring is thick shiny Kong rubber/plastic - easy to wash.
Has that idle control like in the old KB280...EXACTLY like in the KB280.
They gave me a Big Jim Toolbox crammed with sweets & goodies.

It has NO A/C but it has the A/C button, which lights up when you press it.
It has a door lock button that does nothing.
It has a window lock button that locks the doors, but not the windows.
The temp dial is HOT left & COLD right - opposite to most other vehicles.

You should have just bought a GWM,at least if some thing does not work,it means it has fallen off
